06/05/24 - Recently Awarded Project: Harvard Medical School- Seely G. Mudd Building Level 4

Recently Awarded - HMS SGM 4

Harvard Medical School has made the decision to renovate the Seely G. Mudd Building in order to create a space dedicated to education, research, and clinical care. This building, part of the West Quad of Harvard Medical School, will be a central hub for students and faculty to engage in vital work aimed at enhancing health and well-being through teaching, learning, discovery, and leadership. New England Lab, in partnership with Walsh Brothers, Inc. and Payette, along with our vendor Mott Manufacturing, has been selected to deliver cutting-edge laboratory solutions for this initiative.

In order to streamline the installation process, the space will be equipped with pre-wired and pre-plumbed Optima Bench systems made of painted steel. These systems will be single-sided and come with epoxy counter tops and Brightedge task lights. Additionally, painted steel flat tables and mobile cabinets will be included, offering ample workspace and storage. The workspace will also benefit from the durability provided by the epoxy resin tops, drop-in sinks, and pegboards.

To prioritize safety and efficiency, the lab utilizes stainless steel Cambridge Bench systems, stainless steel tops, and both the 48” and 60” Novaguard fume hood. With sterile and heat resistant work surfaces, students and faculty will be able to conduct research in an environment that is resistant to corrosives and chemicals. Additionally, the Novaguard fume hood is a high-performance hood designed to deliver superior containment performance and energy efficiency while also maintaining maximized visibility for faculty to observe student research.

New England Lab is honored to assist Harvard Medical School in their commitment to cultivating an inclusive community and promoting progress in health research and discovery. We are thrilled to be a part of this exceptional initiative.
