New England Lab was recently awarded UMass Boston’s General Academic Building No. 1. The four story, 181,000 sq. ft. interdisciplinary teaching facility will house the Art, Chemistry and Performing Arts departments. In addition to 24 general-use classrooms and a 500-seat lecture hall, GAB1 will house teaching laboratories for General, Physiological, Analytical, Physical/Structural, Organic and Inorganic Chemistries. The building will seek LEED Silver certification and plans to open in fall 2015.

New England Lab, working with Gilbane Construction Company, will be supplying their painted steel lab casework, wood veneer lab casework, designer steel lab casework, fume hoods, shelving and lab equipment.
