New England Lab's newest project, the UMass Medical Albert Sherman Center, was recently completed, and earned NEL the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Build New England Merit Award.
The expansive center (512,000 sq. ft) is a new biomedical research and education facility designed to unify the UMass Medical School's Worcester campus. The center doubles the school's research capacity, fostering interaction and collaboration among scientists, and promoting innovation across disciplines. It was also built as a flexible lab environment, featuring NEL's Optima benches, to accommodate the evolving world of biomedical research.
New England Lab thanks AGC for this award and recognition, as well as Suffolk Construction Company and ARC Architects for the opportunity and collaboration on this project.
