GSK, a well-known global biopharma corporation, has committed to establishing a location on Cambridge Park Drive, a prime location in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This state-of-the-art facility, covering an impressive area of 222,000 square feet, will primarily concentrate on early discovery and immunology research. To ensure the success of this endeavor, New England Lab has partnered with DPR Construction and Genesis AEC, along with our esteemed vendor Mott Manufacturing, to provide cutting-edge laboratory solutions.
To optimize the area, GSK has given priority to outfitting the facility with abundant fume hoods. The inclusion of both pre-wired and pre-plumbed NovaGuard™ and SafeGuard™ fume hoods ensure superior containment capabilities, enhanced visibility, energy efficiency, and an appealing aesthetic. These bench-mounted hoods, featuring dished epoxy tops, are equipped with adjustable height painted steel tables, allowing for safe research at various heights.
Furthermore, apart from the secure working environment offered by the fume hoods, the laboratory is equipped with abundant flammable cabinets that are equipped with self-closing doors and fusible links. This arrangement enables the safe storage of potentially dangerous or highly flammable chemicals, even in the event of a fire, as the combination of self-closing doors and fusible links guarantees that the cabinet will remain securely closed during emergencies.
New England Lab is proud to support GSK in their endeavor to bring together science, technology, and talent to proactively combat diseases through purpose, strategy, and culture. We are thrilled to be a part of this initiative and eagerly anticipate collaborating with all parties involved.
