North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a publicly funded, land-grant research institution in the heart of Greensboro, North Carolina, is set to expand its facilities. A new complex, slated for development on the university's sprawling 492-acre farmland, is set to become a vibrant hub for research and business incubation. This 15,000 square-foot building will house a sensory laboratory dedicated to consumer research, a post-harvest physiology laboratory for the examination of harvested products, a food processing laboratory, a commercial kitchen, and a food safety laboratory. In collaboration with Monteith Construction and Page, New England Lab has been selected with the task of providing flexible lab solutions for this project.
The university has planned the installation of pre-plumbed and pre-wired painted steel Optima Benches within the space to facilitate the conduct of research and offer unparalleled mobility. This feature is particularly beneficial in a university lab setting, as it caters to the dynamic needs of student-led research.
In an effort to maximize the efficiency and safety of this space, the university has planned the installation of Pro Series fume hoods, laminar flow hoods, and biosafety cabinets. This comprehensive suite of equipment will ensure that both students and staff have access to state-of-the-art, safety-oriented tools, thereby enhancing the research experience.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to NC A&T State University's vision of creating vibrant and innovative lab spaces across their campus.
