Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, MA, is advancing the capabilities of its Clinical Laboratory Suite on the fifth floor, partnering with Wise Construction Corporation and renowned architectural firm Payette. This transformative project aims to enhance lab efficiency and adaptability, vital to BIDMC’s mission of delivering innovative healthcare and medical research. A key incentive behind the project is the strategic relocation of research teams and groups from another BIDMC building in the Longwood area to this new space, further facilitating collaboration and operational synergy.
New England Lab is proud to contribute to this ambitious renovation, supplying tailored laboratory furnishings that optimize both function and form. Our scope of work includes durable painted steel infill lab tables and Optima™ benches with epoxy resin tops, ensuring long-lasting performance. The benches will feature rear uprights supporting three-tier upper shelves and include wood mobile cabinets. To further meet BIDMC’s requirements, we’ve provided ceiling utility panels, comprehensive sink base setups, secure storage, and sleek, painted steel wall-mounted shelving.
Despite the challenges of working adjacent to critical medical spaces like an active ambulance entrance and surgical suites, the collaborative efforts have ensured patient care remained uninterrupted. This was achieved through the use of advanced containment technology, meticulous safety measures, and strategic coordination with hospital departments. We are honored to support BIDMC and its project partners, delivering a state-of-the-art laboratory space that fosters excellence in research and healthcare outcomes.
